Artist Bio
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Joshua Pierre Moore (J.P.began pursuing his career in voice in 2018, performing in his very first opera as the role of Sarastro in the Texas State University production of Die Zauberflöte. J.P. continued his studies at Texas State University under internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Daveda Karanas, while performing in roles such as Ariodate in Xerxes, General Godofredo De La Barca in La Curandera, and Le Roi in Cendrillon. During his time at Texas State, J.P. was also a member of the Austin Opera chorus in 2021 for their production of Tosca, and in that very summer became an apprentice artist for Opera San Antonio’s summer training program that continued to hone his skills beyond the university. Since then J.P. has relocated to Arizona to pursue his M.M. in Opera and Musical Theater Performance at Arizona State University under the guidance of internationally acclaimed baritone Gordon Hawkins. J.P. has performed a number of operatic roles including Sulpice in Daughter of the Regiment, Nick Shadow in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, and most recently Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro in his time at ASU. J.P. will be graduating in May 2024 and will be moving to New York that August to continue Pursuing a career in Opera and Musical theater.
